The well-respected Haufe Academy wanted to know and interviewed over 1000 people on the Questions: Which formats make further training meaningful for employees in Germany?
The figures show: The diversity of training opportunities is underestimated! Employees should assess which further training opportunities they find useful, how much time they spend, and which of these are actually made possible or supported by the employer.
In our experience, modular development journeys which combine personality diagnostics, classical training days with individual learning challenges, online coaching and continuous exchange and feedback amongst peers and mentors offer the best learning results amongst experts and leaders.
These combined journeys can be curated by the company and HR or created individually, by combining different development formats in accordance to your own individual development needs
Seminars and conferences, i.e. one- to two-day face-to-face events with other participants, are considered relevant by almost 90 percent of the respondents of the Haufe study. Personal, individual coaching and longer-term qualification programmes are rated as meaningful by almost 80 percent of those surveyed – around one in three also considers these two measures to be “very meaningful”.

How much time do you invest in your personal development?
62 percent of those surveyed consider up to six days a year to be necessary for further training in order to meet professional requirements. Every third employee (33 per cent) even considers it sensible to plan more than six days for further training.
Learning can be described as a repetitive process, the more often we train ourselves, the better we get. Which means that a single training always only can offer you an impulse which you must pursue further in order to develop successfully.
Modular, combined training and coaching formats foster sustainable learning and development by creating different, over-time learning occasions.
